SALFO Provides Advisory Services For Landmark OAKA Redevelopment

SALFO & Associates, is honored to have played a central role in the upgrade and rehabilitation of the Athens Olympic Sports Complex (OAKA) — from concept design through to implementation. These landmark projects, with a combined budget exceeding €146 million, are transforming OAKA into a modern, world-class hub for sport and culture.

The program comprises two major components:

Rehabilitation and Upgrade of OAKA Facilities – With a budget of over €85 million, this includes the technical maturation, tendering, and now implementation of works to revitalise the complex. The recently signed €8.4 million contract covers the restoration of the common domain, new perimeter fencing, creation of climbing walls, and development of green spaces.

Structural Restoration of the Main Stadium and Velodrome Roofs – A €61.35 million project funded under the National Recovery and Resilience Plan “Greece 2.0”, focusing on restoring the structural integrity of the iconic metal roof structures, repairing and replacing components, and upgrading polycarbonate roofing sheets.

As Technical Advisor to Growthfund’s Project Preparation Facility (PPF), SALFO has been responsible for the technical preparation, tender management, design review, and coordination of all works, ensuring that each project is delivered to the highest standards of quality, safety, and sustainability.

These initiatives mark a significant step in positioning OAKA among Europe’s leading sports infrastructures, safeguarding its legacy while equipping it to serve future generations of athletes, spectators, and the wider community.
