Green Riyadh Program TSE (Lot 2,4)
The Royal Commission for Riyadh City (RCRC) appointed SALFO to design Lot 2 (150 km) and Lot 4 (400 km) of a major Treated Sewage Effluent (TSE) transmission network, boosting capacity from 90,000 m³/day to 1,700,000 m³/day. This infrastructure supports Green Riyadh—one of the world’s most ambitious urban greening initiatives and a key Saudi Vision 2030 project—aiming to plant over 7.5 million trees across streets, districts, and public spaces, increasing per capita green space. The project uses recycled wastewater for irrigation and features 83 native tree species chosen for drought resilience, reducing shaded-area temperatures by 8–15°C and improving air quality. Delivering a network equivalent to 400 Olympic-sized pools per day, SALFO plays a central role in making Riyadh greener, healthier, and more sustainable.
