Al Qassim Strategic, Regional and Local Plans

As part of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing (MOMRAH), in partnership with the Development Authorities Support Centre (DASC), appointed SALFO and Associates to prepare the Strategic and Regional Plans for the Al-Qassim Region, which covers approximately 58,000 km² and is home to over 1.4 million residents.

The project aims to establish long-term development strategies aligned with national spatial policies, the UN Sustainable Development Goals, and the New Urban Agenda. In addition to the regional-level planning, SALFO was tasked with preparing Local Urban Plans and Urban Codes for 16 governorates within Al-Qassim, ensuring tailored solutions for diverse urban and rural contexts.

Deliverables include strategic frameworks, spatial policies, zoning regulations, and urban design guidelines that promote sustainable growth, improve quality of life, and reinforce the region’s cultural and environmental identity.
